Liverpool vs Everton
England – FA Cup
Date: Sunday, 05 January 2020
Kick-off at 16:01 UK/ 17:01 CET
Liverpool are in a commanding position atop the Premier League – 13 points clear of second-placed Leicester while also having a game in hand.
Right off the bat, you do need to acknowledge the fact that Liverpool have not given much thought at all to cup competitions under Klopp. This season is not likely to be any different, though the gaffer does have a big responsibility to not let Everton get any momentum going. Because of that, you can expect the Reds to be super competitive here, even if they don’t play a full strength team. Regardless, you have to like their chances as their home form and form in this tie have been irresistible

Liverpool Team News, Updates and Facts
Liverpool Team News
Jurgen Klopp has stated that the likes of defenders Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip and midfielder Fabinho are close to returning, though it would seem foolhardy to throw them in here. Midfielders Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita, with a fresh injury, are expected to be ruled out as well.
Liverpool Key Man
Divock Origi hasn’t had a lot of action apart from coming on as a sub of late, but his last meaningful contribution was a big one as he scored twice in their dominant win over Everton that got Marco Silva fired last month. Look for him to be similarly an issue in this one. Takumi Minamino could also be set for a debut here, and it will be interesting to see how the Japanese international gets on if he does earn his bow. He’s shown a willingness to score goals and an ability to create them, making him another option in the Reds’ arsenal of young, talented players.
Liverpool Team Form
Liverpool have won each of their last five matches:
2-0 home win vs Sheffield United
1-0 home win vs Wolves
0-4 win at Leicester
1-0 extra time win vs Flamengo (FIFA Club World Cup)
1-2 win vs Monterrey (FCWC)
Liverpool Predicted Starting Line up

- Midfielders:Lallana, Minamino, Jones
- Forwards:Origi, Elliott, Mane

Everton Team News
Carlo Ancelotti will be missing wingers Bernard and Alex Iwobi and midfielders Jean Gbamin and Andre Gomes due to injuries.
Everton Key Man
Not much went right in the last meeting between these two teams, but Richarlison did get on the score sheet, as he did against City on Wednesday. The Brazilian is super strong, pacy, and has good ability to finish, making him someone the Reds will have to watch. At wing back, we might just see veteran Leighton Baines here, a man with plenty of experience and know-how give them a bit of support. He’s still got a crafty left foot, too, so watch out for him if the Toffees get any set piece chances.
Everton Team Form
Everton have a loss, two wins, and two draws in their last five matches:
2-1 loss at Manchester City
