Chelsea are now able to sign new players after their transfer ban was lifted. But Frank Lampard may keep faith with the younger players that started the season so well.

Chelsea should be too strong for Burnley at home – but with the attacking presence of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes, the visitors may well manage to find the net.

Chelsea Team News, Updates and Facts

Chelsea Team News

Frank Lampard is missing both midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and left back Marcos Alonso due to injuries at the moment, though he is starting to get a healthier side with Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud being included now.

Chelsea Key Man

After playing a starring role in the throwback win over Nottingham Forest last time out, Callum Hudson-Odoi might just be in line for a start here.  It’s been a rough season for him as he’s returned to fitness, but he appears to be on the up following his goal that led to a win in the FA Cup.  Another youngster that they have seen have his share of ups and downs has been Christian Pulisic, but they will have good memories of the American considering he had a hat trick in the reverse fixture back in October, accounting for three of his five PL goals thus far.

Chelsea Team Form

Chelsea have three wins, a draw, and a loss in their last five matches:

2-0 home win vs Nottingham Forest (FA Cup)
1-1 draw at Brighton
1-2 win at Arsenal
0-2 home loss vs Southampton
0-2 win at Tottenham

Chelsea Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

Chelsea likely XI

  • Goalkeeper:Kepa
  • Defenders:James, Rudiger, Zouma, Azpilicueta
  • Midfielders:Kante, Jorginho, Mount
  • Forwards:Pulisic, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi

Burnley Team News, Updates and Facts

Burnley Team News

Sean Dyche has a fairly healthy squad right now, with only defender Ben Gibson and winger Aaron Lennon as doubts due to injury.

Burnley Key Man

Ashley Barnes may not have gotten on the score sheet the last time these two sides met, but the veteran striker has scored two in of the last four against the Blues, making him a big danger to do so again.  He has six goals on the season and has done that despite injuries and fitness issues.  In the center of the park, not much talk has centered around Ashley Westwood, but perhaps it should.  He has been fantastic this season to provide five assists, making him another underrated star that goes overlooked.

Burnley Team Form

Burnley have two wins and three losses in their last five matches:

4-2 home win vs Peterborough (FA Cup)
1-2 home loss vs Aston Villa
0-2 home loss vs Manchester United
1-0 loss at Everton
0-1 win at Bournemouth

  • Defenders:Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor
